Get your sprinkles, sugar and cream ready for National Cupcake Week which kicks off on Monday, June 30th and runs until Friday, July 4th.
As part of the celebrations, Aramark Food Services has teamed up with Flora Buttery from Unilever Food Solutions and will be selling a range of cupcakes across all of its food services sites in Ireland in aid of Aramark’s Charitable Fund’s four nationwide charities for this year: GIY (Grow it Yourself), Children’s Heartbeat Trust, St Patrick’s Mental Health Foundation and Galway Hospice.
The good news is that each cupcake will be made with Flora Buttery, which contains 72% less saturated fat compared to butter.
Aramark is also encouraging people across the country to host a cupcake party during National Cupcake Week to raise funds for the Aramark Charitable Fund.
Frank Gleeson, head of Aramark Food Services said, “We have seen a welcome return in demands for fresh baked items like cupcakes. At Aramark, we are always looking at new ways to enjoy a treat. In our five previous years, we’ve sold over 18,500 cupcakes, resulting in almost €20,000 for our charities. This year we want not only add to that total, but drive some inventive creations in the process.”
Cathy Meade, Account Manager, Unilever Food Solutions, added: “We are proud to partner with Aramark Food Services National Cupcake Week, and are delighted to help support the Aramark Charitable Fund. We want to help Aramark educate their consumers about how making small changes to their diets can make a difference. In this case, Flora Buttery is a perfect fit because it contains 72% less saturated fat than butter.”
