No fewer than 21 new entrants have found their way onto John and Sally McKenna’s 2014 100 Best Restaurants Guide, launch on Friday February 28th, with 9 of them being in Dublin.

On reviewing the new entrants to the guide, and overseeing the list as a whole, John and Sally are using the term ‘creative casual’ to describe restaurant trends over the past 12 months in reference to the fact that many of the new entries are concentrating on purely the food itself rather than becoming distracted by the establishment’ architecture or lighting.

“Irish restaurateurs are not copying anyone. Irish restaurants are not imitating,” according to a statement released.

The guide was also launched as a mobile phone app, available on iPhone and Android devices.
