Dublin based international hospitality and hotel management company Prem Group has announced that its 16th Premier Suites hotel is set to open in Zuidas, Amsterdam, in June 2020.

Premier Suites Plus Amsterdam will be located within the HourGlass Building on Buitenveldertselaan, Zuidas, in the heart of the financial district of the city. The property is currently under construction.

Premier Suites Plus Amsterdam will include 88 one bedroom units, 26 two bedroom apartments and 1 three bedroom apartment. The units have been designed with the medium to long stay business traveller in mind and will be furnished with a fully equipped kitchen with combi-oven, microwave, hob, fridge, freezer, washing/dryer machine and coffee machine. They will also include a modern living area with a flat screen TV and hotel bed from the Seventh Heaven range. Bathrooms are equipped with a power shower and toiletries will be provided. A housekeeping service will be offered once a week. A reception team will also be available 24/7.

Jim Murphy, CEO of Prem Group, said: “Premier Suites are ideal for corporate relocations, giving longer staying guests the freedom and space of their own living quarters. They are also suitable for families and groups of friends taking a city break. The extended stay sector is growing rapidly globally, with increasing numbers of travellers seeking a more flexible and spacious alternative to traditional hotel accommodation, without having to compromise on the comfort and facilities they associate with hotels.”

The developers behind the HourGlass Building is the Maarsen Group who commissioned architecture firm Dam & Partners with the design and Hurks with the construction. Along with Premier Suites Plus the building will include 21,000 m2 of office space of which 15,500 m2 will be occupied by the law firm Loyens & Loeff (among other tenants). There will also be 700 m2 of retail and catering space, bicycle storage and 148 car parking spaces.

Prem Group is focused on strengthening its business in Continental Europe and currently operates 11 hotel properties in Belgium and 2 in the Netherlands. It also operates 25 properties across UK & Ireland. This brings their total portfolio to 38 properties, managing 2,990 beds and 1,300 employees.
