The programme of events for the 12th annual West Waterford Festival of Food has been released, with the seaside town of Dungarvan again becoming a focal point for Irish food over the weekend of 26th – 28th April.
The festival opens at Lismore Castle on Friday 26th April, where diners will have the opportunity to enjoy a Michelin starred menu designed and prepared by Chefs Ross Lewis and Danni Barry along with Paula Stakelum.
Other fesival higlights this year include a lunch at the Causeway Tennis Club with Chef Martin Shanahan, a Middle Eastern feast served up by husband and wife duo Dvir and Nicola at the Town Hall Theatre, and foraging trips with foragers Andrew Malcolm and Marie Power.
Members of Food the Waterford Way will feature strongly, including Harty’s Oysters, Comeragh Mountain Lamb, Blackwater Distillery and Coffee House Lane.
Michelin-starred Chef Danni Barri (Eipic) will be cooking all weekend long, as will Maeve Walsh (Canteen), Holly Dalton (Gertrude Restaurant / 3fe), Paula Stakelum (Ashford Castle), and a host of other well known names.
There is also a full children’s programme, bus tours along with a farmer’s market on Thursday, Dungarvan Country Market on Friday, The Quayside Market on Saturday and the festival market on Sunday, when over 100 stalls will fill Dungarvan town.
