Another hotel is in the planning phase in the Dublin Airport region, adding to a number of extensions and developments already underway.
The new hotel is to be built beside the existing Carlton hotel, itself one of the cloest hotels to the airport in the area. The planning permission calls for a new five storey, 100 bedroom development, and is being financed by a UK-based company connected to Carlton Hotels.
The new project is one of a number of new hotels and extensions in development in the area. The nearby Radisson Blu property, owned by CG Hotels, will be expanded with two developments – a six storey extension to the existing hotel, as well as a new hotel to be built beside it. Upon completion, the complex will house over 500 rooms.
Hotel management group Dalata has received planning permission for a 140 bedroom extension to its Clayton Hotel Dublin Airport property. The company also owns a Clayton hotel nearby to the airport, previously owned by the Moran and Bewley’s Group, and will soon submit planning application for a 140 bedroom extension there.
In addition, a new 402 bedroom hotel is to be built by the DAA and will be connected to Terminal 2.
Finally, a 427 bedroom hotel is in the planning phase, to be built beside the Clayton Hotel Dublin Airport.
