We don’t get many dark milds in Ireland and it’s a real pity because it’s a wonderful type of beer. Think of a dark mild as a weaker porter. It’s generally a brownish to blackish ale that’s between 2.8 and 4.5%. They generally hover just below the 4% mark and in this case, it’s 3.7%.
They are less bitter than porter or stout and designed for enjoying on a dark evening, especially during a good session. Trouble’s offering is available in draught from keg and cask – I suggest finding the cast version as I believe it’s beer perfection.
