Beer of the Month: 8 Degrees – The Fearless

8 Degrees are well known for big, bold flavoured beers but they bring us something a little different here. This is part of their winter seasonal collection titled The Dukes of Burgundy. There are three beers in this range – the Fearless & The Bold are already available, with The Bold being an imperial stout. The last one is called The Good but it’s still ageing at the moment.

The Fearless is a 6.4% farmhouse ale, also known as a saison. It’s aged in Burgundy Chardonnay oak barrels. It’s vinous yet spicy with a wonderful crisp body. There’s lashings of vanilla that somehow break through the spicy saison notes. The beer is pretty dry but with some fruity and slightly tart notes.

The 750ml bottle is perfect for sharing and will be a perfect match with seafood, including raw sushi.
