The 10th annual Connemara Mussel Festival is set to tahe place this coming May 1st – 3rd, on the Renvyle peninsula.
The 2014 event was rated as Food Festival of the Year in John and Sally McKennas’ Guides.
This year’s programme includes demos of local seafood by West of Ireland chefs JP Mc Mahon and Martin O’Donnell with Sally McKenna, talks from bee keeping and honey, to smoked salmon and Killary rope mussels. GMIT College of Tourism and Arts will also hold a Young Chef competition.
Launching the festival John Coyle, owner of Renvyle House Hotel, commented: “The Connemara Mussel Festival is a fantastic festival experience for visitors to the Wild Atlantic Way and a testament to the local community.”
